Redovar 1.0 Beta

Redovar 1.0 Beta is now available for customer testing, bringing the Console and Staff Device together for camps and businesses.

The first release

1.0 Beta is the first version of Redovar prepared for customer use.

Directors and managers work from the Redovar Console. Staff use the Redovar Device throughout the day for schedules, messages, announcements, locations, requests, and the information tied to their work.

Camps and businesses use the same Redovar system, with the parts of the product shaped around how each organization works.

The Beta gives us a chance to put Redovar into use, see where it holds up, and learn what needs to change before 1.0.

Organization and access

Organizations can now set up their staff, roles, departments, sites, locations, and assignments from the Console.

Business accounts can create Teams. Camps can create Programs, Units, and Cabins.

Roles describe someone’s work. Departments show where they belong. Assignments connect them to the people, places, and responsibilities that matter during the day.

Access is handled separately, so belonging to a department or group does not automatically open information someone should not see.

Scheduling

Schedules can now be created, imported, and updated from the Console.

Each assignment can include a staff member, activity, location, and time. When something changes, managers can update the schedule and staff receive the latest version on their Redovar Device.

Each staff member also has their own daily schedule available directly on the device.

Communication

Redovar now supports the main ways teams need to communicate during the day without making a personal phone part of the job.

Organizations can send announcements to everyone or narrow them to specific staff, roles, departments, teams, programs, units, or individuals.

Direct messages, group messages, walkie, assistance requests, and emergency communication are also part of the Beta.

Camps

Camp accounts include the structure needed for campers and the staff responsible for them.

Campers can be connected to cabins, units, programs, schedules, and staff assignments. Camps can also keep health and dietary information behind separate permissions.

A counselor can see the information needed for their responsibility without being given access to every record the camp holds.

Business

Business accounts use Redovar without camp-specific sections appearing in their workspace.

They can organize staff through Departments and Teams, build schedules, manage Sites and Locations, send announcements, handle requests, and assign devices.

Someone can belong to one Department while working across several Teams, which keeps their main role separate from the groups they may work with during the day.

Staff Device

The Staff Device carries the parts of Redovar an employee needs while they are working.

After sign-in, the device shows the information available to that staff member based on their organization, role, and assignments.

Their day can include a personal schedule, messages, announcements, maps, locations, requests, and other information connected to their work.

Important information can remain available when the connection drops. Stored data is cleared as access or assignments change.

Devices

Organizations can now keep track of the Redovar Devices they use and who each one is assigned to.

A device can be assigned to a staff member, checked for status, and reassigned when it moves to someone else.

1.0 Beta establishes this part of the system in software. Enrollment and device management will continue to be tested as physical Redovar Devices move into customer pilots.

What Beta means

Redovar 1.0 Beta is a customer-testing release.

The product is far enough along to leave our development environment and be used by the people it was built for.

This stage will show us how organizations set themselves up, how schedules change during the day, what staff actually use, where connectivity becomes a problem, how devices move between people, and where Redovar creates unnecessary work.

What we learn from that will shape the final 1.0 release.

What comes next

The next releases will build on the Console, Staff Device, organization structure, and device system already in place.

Meaningful changes will be documented here as they ship.

For now, 1.0 Beta marks the point where Redovar moves from being built internally to being tested with customers.
